Women's 2nd XI game started off with an quick goal for Chichester from a short corner. Portsmouth responded well to the early attack to equalise with a beautiful strike from Emily Crowcroft at the top of the D. Unfortunately legs weren’t hugely spritely for the team in this first game of the season with the team struggled to gel and make purposeful movements. At half time, Portsmouth were 3-1 down.

After half time strategy talks, the team worked massively better together. The second half saw a goal from Molly Appleton, with Louisa McKay on the assist. Portsmouth then kept pushing to secure another goal from Saskia Barth. But it didn't stop there, Portsmouth continued the onslaught bringing a short corner which was then upgraded to a penalty flick due to a Chichester player struggling to jump out of the way. The flick was swiftly take by Appleton bringing Portsmouth into the lead at 4-3. The team held strong for the remainder of the half, having lots of opportunities and hard work in defence thanks to the communication of the defence and quick feet of goalkeeper Kezia Winter. There was a slight lapse in focus from the Portsmouth team, bringing the Chichester attackers to secure a last minute goal bringing the final result to a 4-4 draw. Man of the match went to Appleton.
