Mens 3rd team enjoy goal after goal against Petersfield

Portsmouth started the game against Petersfield 2s looking to continue from their first win last weekend. This started early with Paul Barnes volleying a shot into the goal before 10 minutes. Portsmouth continued to press the Petersfield D with a further goal putting Portsmouth ahead 2-0. Petersfield then brought themselves back into the game with a goal, before Portsmouth responded to make the score 3-1 to Portsmouth at halftime.

Petersfield came back at the start of the second half, winning a penalty corner and converting this with a drag flick to make the score line 3-2. Portsmouth soaked up the pressure and then pressed themselves scoring another goal to keep them ahead 4-2. Petersfield won another penalty corner but a great effort by the Portsmouth defence turned this into a strong counterattack. With strong runs by Dan Hayward and Jack Boswell down the field ending in another goal for Portsmouth. Petersfield kept themselves in the game with another goal to make the score 4-3. However Portsmouth continued to press on the break resulting with 2 more goals before the end of the 2nd half to make the final score 6-3 to Portsmouth. Man of the match was awarded to Jack Boswell and Portsmouth continue to next week with back to back wins.
