From the start Portsmouth pressed forward and soon took a two goal lead after great link up play between forwards Tim Schofield and Ian Bowry - who scored a goal a piece. Just before the break Hayden Jellard broke forward and scored the third.
Bowry and Schofield scored their second goals in the second half as a result of tormenting the Andover defence with more of their clever interplay. Andover managed a consolation goal late in the game but Mark Wilson restored the five goal lead when he crashed in a shot from the top of the D.
Playing in only his second hockey match, Dave Simmons seems to be natural and was awarded Man of the Match.
