Energised Vets see off Chichester Deacons

In the late game at Chichester, Portsmouth Vets turned on the style against a solid Chichester Deacons side. The game started at a furious pace, for a vets game…….. with the zip of Stuart Avery and Chris Butler making special appearances. The dismal weather gave way 15 minutes in and by then Portsmouth were 1 up. Chichester scored against the run of play but shortly after Portsmouth’s lead doubled from a deflected shot from a short corner. The midfield subs rotated well to keep the pace of the game up and Portsmouth started the second half with a lot of control and territory and went 3 – 1 up. Chichester scored again with a breakaway goal but Portsmouth added 2 more one a well taken shot from the edge of the D by Chris Butler. Pete Rayner made a welcome return after injury and the whole side played very well.
