Mens Veterans defeat Havant to take their first 3 points of the season

Portsmouth Vets blew away Havant Vets after a tight first half. Portsmouth Vets welcomed Dave Simms, Bryan Hodges and Simon Payne to bolster the core of the side.

A well organised Havant team enjoyed early possession but Portsmouth went ahead after 10 minutes from a Tim Schofield edge of the D shot. Havant replied with 2 goals before John Pratt scored for Portsmouth to level things up before half time. Crucially, Tim scored his second from a Short, shortly after half time. John Pratt scored again after a trade mark run from Schofield. The Vets sealed a satisfying first win of the season after Dave Edwards fired into the D only for John Pratt to edge off the keeper and post to dribble in. For his midfield dominance Dave ‘Sammy’ Simms was awarded Man of the Match.
