The Mens 5th team survived the long trip to high flying Gillingham, in deepest Dorset, and returned with their heads held high after a battling second half comeback. Gillingham were the better side initially and deserved their 2 - 0 half time lead. Portsmouth then changed formation and upped the work rate so it was no surprise that Tim Schofield pulled a goal back following good build up play by the industrious Man of the Match, Will Duffy, in midfield. Cutting down to three at the back, the excellent Craig Watts, Andy Thorne & Colin Metcalfe, reaped rewards and gave the midfield more control as they were able to drive forward in numbers. Portsmouth's attacks earned several short corners and it was from one of those that Marc Kendrick pounced on a loose ball to equalise when the keeper saved Tim Schofield's initial shot.
