Pete Atkins was a well loved character throughout the hockey world but nowhere more so than here at his own club. He sufffered a heart attack at his home yesterday.

Pete touched the lives of hundreds of players in their careers helping countless youngsters on to play for their country. Without the contribution of Pete this club would probably not exist today and certainly his tireless work for the club, county and country over the years has allowed the sport to flourish.

When we think of Pete we think of Mr Hockey but he was many things to many people, he has been an inspiration and a fantastic supporter of all those around him.

Our thoughts are with his family at this time.
