Having welcomed a number of new players to the team, it was lovely to see the squad gel quickly to play the ball nicely around the pitch and to get everyone involved.
The team were quick to open up the scoring with a true softball style thwack into the net from Nicky Puckett, followed up by a quick response a couple of minutes later from a beautifully timed pass from Nicky Chedzoy to Louise to slot the ball passed a bemused West Meon keeper.
West Meon tried to up the anti and started to put some pressure on the defense but Leah Riddy, Kate Mason, Gemma Taylor and Vicki kept picking the ball off those attackers and working together to clear the lines and send the ball back up to the forwards. The third goal of the half came from a reverse lob over the keeper from Puckett to take Portsmouth to half time with a nice lead.
Becky Nelson made a love goal in the top corner in the second half.
The game ended on a high of 5-0 to Portsmouth. A lovely game despite a broken shoe, a forgotten stick and an almost broken gate.
