Lining up with Raph and Thomas in defence, Sophia and Olive working tirelessly out wide, Frazer and Josh controlling the centre, and Harry leading the line, the team produced some excellent hockey in their first game.

Despite the challenge of having no substitutes, Portsmouth created 14 attempts on goal, showing real attacking intent and scoring five well-taken goals. The goals came from Frazer, Josh (2), Harry, and Olive — a brilliant spread across the team.

Portsmouth held a narrow lead going into the final minutes, but with just two minutes left, Chichester struck twice to snatch a 6–5 victory.

A fantastic effort from the seven players, who battled hard and showed great teamwork against the odds.

Game Two vs Gosport

Gosport started strongly and took the lead early on, but some excellent defensive work from Frazer, Raph, and Thomas kept Portsmouth in the game and limited the score to just 1–0 at half-time.

In the second half, Portsmouth produced a brilliant team move to level the match. Sophia played a clever ball into Frazer, who found Olive. She slipped it through to Josh, whose effort was blocked, but the rebound fell to Frazer. Showing great awareness, he unselfishly set up Harry, who coolly slotted the ball through the keeper’s legs to make it 1–1.

With tired legs starting to show, Portsmouth were caught on the break. Even though Thomas and Raph slowed down the attack, a fortunate bounce fell kindly to Gosport, who made it 2–1.

Despite the result, the team showed huge determination and produced some excellent hockey across both games. Lots of positives and a big well done to everyone!
