Late push from the Womens 1st team proves too little too late

A weakened Portsmouth side slipped to their first defeat of the season against Romsey and can put it down entirely to not taking their chances, in particular at short corners.
Portsmouth opened the scoring with Zoe Wimshurst converting an early short corner only to see Romsey equalise virtually straight away from their own first short corner.
For the remainder of the first half Portsmouth huffed and puffed but couldn’t put the ball in the net. Following the break Portsmouth continued to dominate the game but despite forcing corner after corner they just couldn’t convert.
Classically they then got caught on the break, conceding their second short corner only to see the home side convert again. Although this galvanised them into a fresh burst of pressure it was from yet another breakaway that Romsey nicked a third.
A final push from the visitors saw Wimshurst score her second short corner strike but it proved too little too late.
