The Mens 5th team were quick out of the blocks against Salisbury. Martin King opened to scoring with a reverse stick strike from the side of the D after the midfield had pressurised Salisbury. Not too long afterwards, an intercepted pass was picked up by Martin who again dispatched the ball past the Salisbury keeper off his reverse.
Colin Brown and Gary Bull continued to dominate the midfield and Salisbury were unable to overcome Jamie Moore at the back. Going into half time, Portsmouth were controlling the game with a 2 goal advantage.
As the second half kicked off there was a period where Portsmouth couldn’t quite get the run of the green - Carl Jackson narrowly missing at the far post. A flowing move from Salisbury resulting in a goal. However before long a wonderful piece of two touch hockey from one end to the other resulted in Callum Gaskin finishing off past the Salisbury keeper giving Portsmouth their 3rd and final of the afternoon. A great game for the purple warriors.
