Our walking hockey sessions are being recognized by England Hockey, who will be paying a visit on August 13th.

England Hockey have recently contacted the club to inform us that they will be sending a representative to join us on Tuesday 13th August. This is great recognition of our walking hockey sessions, and will be to report on our success story with an article being produced for their magazine / website.

To help show off our walking hockey sessions, we would ask all club members to put the date in their diary and make every effort to attend on August 13th, whether you are a walking hockey regular, or if this will be your first time.

If you want to get familiar with the session and the rules, we would of course welcome you to attend this week (6th August). All ages and abilities are welcome.

Walking Hockey sessions are held at Admiral Lord Nelson School on Tuesday evenings from 8:00-9:00pm, with the option for some sociable ‘refreshments’ afterwards.

Portsmouth were the first club in the area to introduce dedicated sessions for walking hockey, and it has fast proven to be a fun version of the game. There is no commitment to turn up every week, and the game suits players of all standards.

The sessions are well attended by players of all abilities including many who have just picked up a stick for the very first time, Mums, Dads and their kids, and also a good sprinkling of regular players, who have all quickly realised that it can be more energetic than it’s name might suggest!
