Portsmouth's mens team can seal the South Hants Summer League Division 3 title with a draw or better against Winchester tonight.

I will be supporting from afar and eagerly await news of the result.

Fellow title chasers Romsey, slipped to a 4-4 draw last night against Trojans, meaning that a draw tonight will be enough for Portsmouth to seal league victory.

Portsmouth have had a very successful summer league, not only winning 7 of the 9 games played, but also using it as an opportunity to allow range of players to get involved, including several new faces that we have welcomed to the club.

It has also been an ideal opportunity to integrate members of the newly merged club together.

Club chairman Ed Smyth, who has also featured with a guest appearance between the sticks, said: "I am proud to see the success of the men's team in their league, however I am even more proud of the way players from both former clubs have integrated into cohesive, harmonious teams - both men's and women's."

"I look forward to seeing this continue in the forthcoming seasons. Whilst unable to be there tonight, I will be supporting from afar and eagerly await news of the result."

Portsmouth narrowly edged past Winchester 4-3 in their last meeting, so know that they will have to be at their best to secure the title.

The game will be played at 20:30 tonight at Trojans, and any supporters will be gratefully appreciated by the team.

Portsmouth's women, who have also had a very enjoyable season, play their final game tonight against Trojans, 19:00 at Southampton Sports Centre
