Portsmouth Hockey Club formed by merger

The newly founded club is steeped in the rich history of both former clubs, and with this merger can provide an extensive hockey offering to the city.

In a bid to grow participation and ensure the continued development of hockey within the city, ‘City of Portsmouth’ and ‘Portsmouth & Southsea’ hockey clubs have agreed to join forces with the formation of ‘Portsmouth Hockey Club’.

Portsmouth Hockey Club offers hockey for all ages and abilities, and will enter teams into the upcoming 2019/20 Mens, Womens, Veterans and Junior competitive leagues.

The club also provides summer league, indoor hockey and walking hockey, whilst also playing an active role in taking hockey to the schools of Portsmouth.

For the 2019/20 season the club will offer:
5 Men’s teams
5 Women's teams
A Veterans team
Junior Hockey (5-16)
Under 18’s Hockey
Indoor Hockey
Walking Hockey

Due to the expansion Portsmouth Hockey Club will be using two pitches.
University of Portsmouth, Furze Lane, PO4 8LN
Admiral Lord Nelson School, Dundas Lane, PO3 5XT

Broad Oak Social Club on Airport Service Road (PO3 5PB) will serve as the clubhouse and play host to the post match hospitality and social events.

Details of the newly elected committee will be published in due course along with details of the developments for the upcoming season as the new club takes shape.
