Defeat on the road

On a late September Saturday Portsmouth 3s travelled the massive 5.4 miles to Havant, hoping to pick up their opening points of the season. The weather was as could be expected and to be honest that's probably the best thing that can be said about the whole affair.
Captain DJ looked to inspire the team via the unusual tactic of forgetting his stick, but this did nothing to help with the 3s trademark Slow Start™️.
Quickly finding themselves 2-0 down, a third was soon added via a first strike penalty corner that seemingly violated the laws of physics to cross the line below backboard height.
The half did not go all Havant's way as they found themselves down to 10 men after a near assault on Will Duffy drew a green card from the officials. Sadly Portsmouth could not capitalise on this advantage, and with Havant back at full strength 2 minutes later they found a 4th.
Strong half time words gave Pompey a proverbial kick up the bum and George Gale opened his 23/24 league tally with a dazzling finish. Chris Stone then showed why it's not just his speaker that gets him selected by adding another Portsmouth goal. Sadly Havant picked up another 2 goals to leave the final score 6-2.
DJ then revealed he'd also forgotten his towel, yet somehow avoided DOD.
Man of the Match was awarded to the returning James "Jim" "JP" Payne for fixing it in defense during Adam Harley's 35 minute timeout.
