It's was a beautiful Saturday morning and after a leisurely warmup, Portsmouth were ready for battle.
Portsmouth started off brightly, defending strongly and attacking rapidly against the resilient Chichester side. The hosts finally made a breakthrough after a slip ball through to Adam Reilly who struck the ball towards the back post for the defender to deflect it in past his own keeper.
Portsmouth continued the good work throughout the first half, with Ivan Boswell putting it onto the defenders foot to win the short corner. This was then slotted away by a fine drag flick from Alex Williams to put Portsmouth 2-0 up.
The first half ended 2-0, and after a strong team talk, the second half looked set to be a good one. Unfortunately, this was not the case after a funny 10 minutes Portsmouth found themselves losing 3-2, and the less said about the second half, the better but saying that Ed Smyth made some super saves to give Portsmouth a glimmer of hope. Unfortunately, this was not the case, and the game finished with a chichester win.
