M Pumas v Gosport 2

In the delayed late game at ALNS the M Pumas found themselves up against an improved Gosport side who started the game on the front foot. The Pumas were dis-organised due to a couple of players either not being ready or not there to start & found themselves 2-0 down after twenty minutes!
We eventually stopped trying to do too much individually in our defensive area & with Colin & Dan Sinnott now both on the pitch we started to get a bit of control in the game. On twenty-five minutes Colin passed the ball from a 16yd hit 3/4 the length of the pitch to Alberto who was totally unmarked wide on our right just in Gosports 25yd line who collected the ball & drove towards goal & calmly slotted the ball in to score & shock Gosport to make it 2-1. The first half continued with the Pumas gradually getting more possession & control but the half time score remained the same 2-1 to Gosport.

The half time team talk was about continuing to play the nice patterns but to play these further up the field which would cause Gosport trouble, that along with getting Ellis a 2nd half clean sheet & us scoring two goals would get us over the line & make up for our bad start.

With the team talk in our minds we all switched on showing desire, hunger & belief to change the scoreline in our favor, we negated Gosports attacking threat & a brace of goals from Pete Wingate & good goalkeeping by Ellis ensured we came out 3-2 winners!

Lots of positives from fighting back from 2-0 down, a proper team effort with everyone trying & encouraging each other, so Pumas are still top we have 3rd placed Lavant next week who we would really really like to beat.
