M Puma's v Basingstoke 6 (A)

Pumas this week were up at Basingstoke for an early game which thankfully the rain stopped just in time for - we started well controlling the ball around the back & going down the lines but conceded a goal on the breakaway from a much improved Basingstoke side who had a few guys doubling up from their 5's. The joys of playing 3 at the back is that our offensive play is more pressing & this paved the way for us to create quite a few chances which unfortunately went begging, so we went in to the half time break 1-0 down.
The second half restarted with the Pumas creating chances just as before but now with 5 mins gone Pete W got back on the score sheet to make it 1-1, we were making chance & creating with TomBos play-making higher up the pitch we got caught in midfield dillydallying & conceded another on the break to make us go 2-1 down. However with positive contributions & team belief we managed to convert two of the chances firstly by TomBos & then five minutes later another by Pete W to make it 2-3 with ten go. Five minutes to go TomBos decided he'd had enough & was going to finish the game early for everyone by breaking his ankle/shin in 2 places!! Very much an OUCH.

Thanks to Basingstoke who allowed the result to stand & also for everybody who rallied round to keep him warm & to get Tom with his car back to Portsmouth QA Hospital rather than having to be seen up at Basingstoke. (Thanks to John Sinnott for driving Toms car)
