Portsmouth Mens 4s secured their first home win of the season with a 7-0 victory over Alton 4.
Portsmouth opened the scoring early on with Alan Duffy deflecting in a Bryan Hodges short corner strike at the back post. And Hodges turned provider to goal scorer only a few minutes later to make it 2-0.
Tom Hughes scored Portsmouth's third goal just after a quarter of an hour. Good link up play with Liam Sumner saw Hughes wriggle his way through several defenders in the D and slot the ball past the goalkeeper. Hughes soon scored again, having latched onto a loose ball in the D (which Bryan will claim was a pass) to put the home side 4-0 up going into half time.
Portsmouth started the second half as they did the first. Alan Duffy scored his second of the match on 42-minutes, while Bryan doubled his tally only a minute later with an absolute pile-driver that flew past the keeper and into the top corner.
But the best goal ("best" used loosely) was saved for last. Ash Brown (who found himself incredibly high up the pitch) worked well on the left-hand side with Tom Hughes, with the latter able to sweep the ball across the face of goal to find Alan Duffy, who had no problem in converting his third goal of the match and first ever career hat-trick!
