Mens 4s Suffer Narrow Defeat to Havant

Portsmouth Mens 4s were unable to make it two wins from two after losing narrowly to Havant 6 in a very close match.

Both sides had numerous good opportunities to get themselves in front, including several short corners, in an what was evenly balanced first half. However neither side were unable break the deadlock and the score going into half time remained 0-0.

The match continued much the same after the break, but it was the visitors who were finally able to open the scoring midway through the second half. A short corner for Havant led to a strike somehow managing to find its way past Alistair Thompson on the post and into the bottom corner.

Portsmouth had opportunities to level the match, as did Havant to extend their lead, however neither side were able to capitalise and the away side were able to hold out for a 1-0 victory.

A frustrating match for the home side who on another day could easily have been the winning team. Portsmouth can take credit though for their efforts in giving Havant a good match, with plenty of positives that can be taken into the next fixture.
